these are the Alligator Stomp cajun/zydeco series by Rhino. there are 5 in the series from what i can tell. if you like rather rowdy cajun music, then this is one set that you will really enjoy.

yet another thanks to the folks over at the "Rock It!" blog.

i thot this set would be R&B or jump blues. much of it _is_ and some is blues with a smidgeon of swing here and there. still, it's fun music! [*grin*] various online references indicate there are 20+ in this series. they appear to be a series of LP releases, from what i can tell. as of today [2011-08-01] there are 27 listed at the Rock It! site.

these are from "Home of the Blues" to whom i give most fervent thanks!

i thot these would be dance hall blues - more R&B than anything else. instead they are _blues_ songs. good, sometimes danceable stuff that makes nifty pool hall juke box music. the box set has four disks and they are all fun.

a really fun series of jive/r&b/swing/jump blues/whatever-ya-wanna-call-it music. [*grin*] i think of it as swing since that what i enjoy most. it's pro'ly better to think of it as r&b, tho. dance music with a beat to dance WITH someone instead of AT someone.
